There are five essential components of a pulmonary rehabilitation program:
1. Patient assessment.
2. Patient exercise training.
3. Patient education.
4. Program evaluation.
5. Maintenance.
Personnel and equipment
The minimum staff requirement for a pulmonary rehabilitation program is a health professional who has the expertise to conduct an exercise program and who is trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
For the educational component of the program, a multidisciplinary team of health professionals may be involved. The team may include:
